Acer laptop stops charging after a few seconds

I plug in my acer laptop to the acer adapter while the laptop is on then after a few seconds the laptop just makes a sound(the sound that my laptop does whenever it gets plugged in and gets unplugged) then ì replug it then the same thing happens so i replug it im very curious why this happens cause the charger is new it shoudn't act like this so i stop using it then i buy a battery cause i see at the charger icon that i should consider replacing the battery so oh maybe thats the problem so i buy a new battery and it still stops charging after a few seconds heeelp pls!!!

Model of your Acer laptop? An SKU would help us two fold. Can you get into BIOS and see which version you're currently working with? What OS are you on? Windows 10?
