Acer laptop V15 screen blank with power on

I have a none detachable battery laptop. The screen was blank for the first time after switching it on within 3 months of purchase. I managed to used the suggestion in this forum and bring the screen back on. It happened a few times after that and solved with the same suggestion. I didn't like the hassle to keep on going back to the service shop after just completing one round with a faulty keyboard from the same shop, it took 3 to 4 months to get it replaced. I have a faulty mouse too from the same shop after 3 months of usage which i thought the price was small so i bought a new one from another shop to replace it. Same brand and it worked fine without any issue. It was all original and full priced items. It was a legally registered shop. I believed that as long as i don't go to any pirated ones, my product purchased will be fine. However, now, none of it worked. 3 different purchased items worked badly. It is less than a year and all still within warranty period anyway. Unlike my previous acer or logitech, i have faced nothing of this sort. My previous laptop lasted 3 years and was working fine until windows 10 updated. Window 7 was ok so was the previous version. I thought my old lappy was too old for the software. I bought an acer again but this time Windows 10 that comes along with it and i am facing this sort of problem which I felt either acer or windows were at fault or the legally registered seller has gone rogue.

I finally have one day off from work..... now i have to spend it to fix a laptop.... if anybody had any idea please let me know how to fix this. Even, brand changing can be a good suggestion. I fully support acer and windows because i have been using it for a long long time ever since i started having a computer. Now, i don't think so.

For the blank screen... try this...

Turn off the laptop. Connect an external monitor. Turn on the external monitor and then turn on the laptop. Can you see fine on the external monitor? If yes, then the attached display, or the ribbon cable that connects it, are your problem.

If no, you can't see anything even on the external monitor, then the graphics card/GPU is the problem and needs replacing (which may require the motherboard be replaced).

If that laptop is still under warranty, you aren't going to want to do any of this work yourself, (other than the test with external monitor) because it would void the warranty. However, I would be on the manufacturer about getting you a new device since you have had multiple issues with this one and they have yet to resolve it.

Hi. Thanks for replying. This happened before in the first 3 months of purchase. The blank screen. After pressing windows button or restart after waiting for a while. The laptop screen was back. If i have brought this laptop to them within warranty, they would have said it was fine then because the screen was back on. It didnt happened again until much later but again, pressing a few buttons, the screen was back on. It was only now, pressing button wont bring the screen back. I don't have an external monitor. By next january, it will be one year from purchased. Items sold after two weeks will need to go service center. If it happened within two weeks, i can go back to the seller and get a replacement. Which i did when the laptop wouldnt turn on the very first day. My first laptop wouldnt charge and i got one replacement. Second ones worked fine.

I did went back to the shop as it was 10 mins away, they said they couldnt do anything and dont know anything. They asked me to go to the service center 45 mins away which was closed by then. Its almost one year anyway. After that sort of encounter twice, i decided to buy another brand. I hope apple wont have this problem. I wasnt a mac user but reliability is more important to me now.

It would have to be a fault within the computer. It is not normal to have that issue unless there is a problem with the display or the connection to the display. I would really consider contacting the manufacturer. Before your year is up. Even if you purchased a different device, it is still worth getting them to fix it for you.

Ok. I will take it to the manufacturer next week. Anyway, if anyone else face this problem with a totally new comp, they should bring it to the manufacturer.
