Acer laptop won't turn on

When I turn on my laptop I get the acer logo for 5 seconds then it restarts and keeps doing that. It does this on AC and battery power. Anyone know what may cause this?

Do you have time to see which key you need to press to get into BIOS? If not, try Escape, Function 2 and Delete - hitting all three at the same time won't do any harm but the one that matters should get you in.

If the BIOS works, the machine works so it's a Windows error. Do you have a Windows DVD?

The boot screen won't come up so can't get into BIOS and no windows cd came with comp. running Windows 10. Press power button acer name come up then turns back off. Doesn't boot at all

Got into a menu by spamming f2 but don't know where to go from there. Tried enabling d2d recovery but that didn't work.

And it remained on while you looked through BIOS? Most odd. I was going to suggest using only the power cable and removing the battery completely.

In the BIOS, try changing any AHCI setting to IDE.

Changed to ide and during acer splash screen had a loading circle under acer logo and 2 minutes later got an error message saying something went wrong.

So there is life in there somewhere then. Swap that setting back to where it was and see if you wake something up.

Nothing. Any way I can get it in recovery mode and just reset it to factorY?

If that's going to be possible, it will display on the first black screen referring to another Function key to press..
