I have tried this and other links for a couple of months and they have been sold out. The best I found was a screen on ebay for $999.00.... crazy.

I wonder if I can use a different brand or type of screen.

Dude that is a rip off, I got two 15.6 led screens for $10 each so go somewhere else and they don't have to say acer on them as almost all screens are by LG ect. Any 15.6 LED screen will work!

I have the same laptop model - and I need a replacement screen too. I could not find it anywhere. Only one website may have it. But you need to order minimum 10 screens. Acer Aspire M Series M5-581T-6405 replacement LCD screens
