Desperate for help as I've been researching for days and I'm now leaning towards acer due to HPs terrible hardware reviews(most people have a lot of repairs etc, poor manufacturing).
However I like the HP design more and the speakers are on top.
ACER looks a bit boring and had speakers at the bottom so I am worried I won't hear much when I watch movies in bed? Anybody experience this problem?

The specs are:

HP Envy 17-R104na Intel® Core™ I7 Processor, 12Gb RAM, 2Tb Hard Drive, 17.3 Inch Laptop With Nvidia 940M 2Gb Dedicated Graphics

And

Acer VN7 -792G Intel® Core™ I7 Processor, 8Gb RAM, 1Tb Hard Drive & 128Gb SSD, 17.3 Inch Full HD Gaming Laptop With 4Gb NVIDIA GTX 960M Graphics, Blu-Ray - Black

If I got the acer I would be upgrading the RAM to 16GB.

I need the laptop for movies and photo editing, photoshop work, graphic design :)

Any help would be appreciated as I need to order quite urgently.

Thanks!

If the Acer has an i7-4720HQ, or i7-6700HQ, I'd get the Acer. The Acer has a far better GPU than the HP, too. Not sure how well the speakers on the bottom will work, though.

Just a mention: Hope you aren't using any laptop on a soft surface such as a blanket/quilt or carpeting.

Thanks so much, the laptop is usually on my lap on a couch or on the bed:( but if the speakers get muffled, I suppose I could try and put it on something else.
Pity they had to put the speakers underneath, else they'd have the perfect laptop
