Dear Fellow Tomhardware Forum Users,

I hope that this message finds you all in the best of health and spirits. I hope that you guys are doing fine like always 🙂

Before purchasing Lenovo B5400 I did an extensive market research and finally found almost everything in b5400 for the given budget. But I did miss SSD part, for which I'm feeling the most. I believe that my HDD is really really slow and it I can't properly run applications that are disk-intensive such as NetBeans.

I don't have any prior experience of purchasing and using SSDs. I wanted to know that if it is possible that I can replace HDD in my laptop with an SSD of the same size. I also want to know that if it is possible to have an external SSD (like an external HDD) on which I can run my Windows Installation.

Kind Regards,
Omar Tariq

You can replace your laptop's HDD with SSD. Installing Windows on external HDD or SSD is possible but not recommened as some technical issus might occur.
