can I upgrade the cpu to make laptop faster? I am adding 128 MB ram to double what it has. the Cpu is P3 1000.but it is very slow on the internet.

First thing you'd have to do is take the laptop apart and see if the CPU is soldered in or socketed. Then I'd be happy to help you see what could be put in there. Or take the money, put it in a jar and save up for a new computer, even a Sandy Bridge Celeron will out perform a P3 with the small amount of RAM you have.

Thanks for your help. I bought some ram for it but as it came through the letter box the dog got it so I think maybe I should wait for another newer laptop!.
