They are following a theme, the names are in alphabetical order and are all deserts or sweets so Key Lime Pie fits perfectly.

If they must use kooky names, why have version numbers? Seems superfluous.

Just want to point out that the picture is not real Key Lime Pie; it's more yellow. If it's green, it has a lot of artificial ingredients

See, that is where you can just call Android by it's version number instead of the nickname for the version number if it offends you so much. Instead of complaining about Jelly Bean, chat about Android 5.0! Problem solved.
