If you're going to fly by plane then you no longer have the right to privacy. This has been the case for many years (at least in the USA) so I'm not sure why people are complaining so much. Before the X-Ray machines, if airport security had reasonable suspicion that you might be concealing a weapon when going through a security checkpoint they had the right to strip search you if you refused to cooperate and give up the weapon(s). So all of you complaining about violating child pornography laws need to shut up and either live with it or find an alternate method of travel.

At some point, this bullshit goes beyond reasonable. I would refuse to allow anyone that view any portion of my body that I choose to keep private.

You could not be further from the truth, you fucking idiot. No U.S. government agency, not one, has the authority to force United States citizen to summarily give up their rights rights. Devices like this would severely violate the fourth amendment, just for starters.

As someone with extensive law enforcement experience and also someone who is about to graduate law school, I can tell you, without a doubt, that you are far from knowing what you are talking about. Of course, if you wish to give up your rights, then feel free.

Hey techguy378, why don't you pick your ass up and move the heck out of the USA.
Cause obviously you have no idea what ideals this country was founded on.
The right to bitch is in our bill or rights "Free speech" and "petition the government".
With what you wrote it seems you would be more comfortable in a totalitarian regime then in the good ole USA.
Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.

And for all those total morons that think this increases security and without it airplanes would just start crashing and blowing up everywhere, you are total and complete slack-jawed morons.
Your point has no basis in historical fact or modern precedent and you are just making up things based on your abject terror at a .000001% chance of being killed by someone that may not like your ideals, to justify your worship of the great and powerful government.

Grow a set of balls and figure out the best security you have is to not submit to pointless violence and totalitarian government intervention and maybe take charge of your own damn life and security (flight 93).

Oh, wait, that might mean you have to stop letting the nanny state wipe your useless asses for you, and man, that might generate some sweat or self esteem.

I think it's more about that the past few years we have virtually given up all our rights to fly. Next to that there are more taps, more people trying to prevent terrorist attacks and yet no one is trying to kill you.

I'm not saying you should stop and let terrorist hit you again, but be smart. If you put 500 locks on your frontdoor, the thieves will find another way to get in, don't worry, 500 locks aren't more secure they just take more time to do what you really want to do, open your door when guests arrive.

At the moment fear is governing America and stupid laws are being passed that should never even be considered as it goes against all the things we have fought for, why we removed people like Stalin, Hitler, Sadam from their thrown. Why we call ourselves a democracy, but in the near future I wouldn't be surprised if we would call ourselves something else because the people are being suspected for everything, but we are safe from no one trying to kill us.

How can they be sure the airport operators won't find a way to capture the images, ie usb camera or screen capture software, etc?
Eventually, someone in the middle of trans-gendering themselves, going from a he to a she, who hasn't made the final operation, final cut, so to speak, will certainly confuse the security person and force them to do a double-take, huh? This tall blonde has WTF?

[citation][nom]Platypus[/nom]It's interesting how our personal insecurity is the only thing standing in the way of our national security. It's an X-Ray image.I wonder if they had an issue with dentists taking x-ray images. I could see a perv dentist hanging your mouth up on the wall and trying to french kiss it.[/citation]
Yes, that's right it is an x-ray image. But I think you need to understand they are not looking at your freak'n bones here. This is what we are talking about here:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/top10/06/270_xray.jpg
The artical said you could see genitals, so we are not talking about x-ray like your dentist uses (who by the way is not a Burger King reject).
[citation][nom]cookoy[/nom]thought x-ray images reveal bone structures and not much soft tissues. well if you're having an erection when you're being scanned... they don't need a scanner to notice it! just keep the display screen in a private enclosure.the report mentioned "volunteer" passengers. this is not mandatory or only because it's on a trial run for the moment.[/citation]
Yes, it's all about the "volunteer." Today it is. Today! And if they ask you if you would like to do it and you say no then they will think you have something to hide and pull you to the side to search you. Which they have every right to do, so are you really a "volunteer"?

Don't hire perverts...

Or just fucking stop over this fucking Nazi level airport checks!
[citation][nom]bydesign[/nom]It doesn't work guys, that is the issue. Scanner or not it's very easy to get something past security. Let's put in perspective if we had a 9/11 every month flying would still be safer than say driving your car. It wouldn't be close either but I hear nobody suggesting radical solutions to making driving safer. All they have done is make flying a pain in the ass.[/citation]
In Canada we have no terrorists, so why is it so difficult for us too?
Next time I fly, I should bring the number of a couple lawyers with me, it's a damned nuisance...

Has nobody realized that its against the Muslim religion to be seen with or by one of these scanners. So the main and most likely providing terrorist group, will be excused going through the scanners on racist grounds. Dreading the thought of being called a racist, but what do honest Christian travellers do or say.
