so you still get a benefit even though amp is only rated at 81 snr
 
The signal to noise ratio of your system is that of the worst rated component of the system. That includes the ambient noise in your room. The snr of the soundcard is more an indicator of the dynamic range where the amp is more the amount of hiss that will be heard through the speaker. Speakers don't have signal to noise ratios as they only generate distortion and replicate the noise of all the components feeding them.
 



do you know if my sound card is rated ate 124 snr and plugging into amp at about 81 snr do i still get a benefit of having high sound card or does it only go to snr of my amp. if not does it pay to buy the expensive sound card or am i just wasting money.
