For all the hype about Prime it is a total disaster here in Mexico. I have dealt with Amazon.com and Amazon.ca for years and never once had an issue, but I moved to Mexico and started dealing with Amazon Mexico. From the start it was a nightmare. I also applied for Prime here, but was refused because, despite the fact that I had paid for hundreds of dollars, if not thousands of dollars, worth of goods with my Visa and Mastercard, they insisted on payment for Prime membership on a Mexican bank. This is absurd because you can't get a Mexican bank account until you are a permanent resident. They are clearly in violation of their agreements with Visa and Mastercard, but they don't care. I've tried and tried.

Umm you moved to Mexico but are not a permanent resident? You have to do things in order. Once you have your paperwork sorted out you can then get a MX bank card... then you can apply for Prime in Mexico.

That's easy, move back up to North America away from all the shady drug cartels.
