AMD VS INTEL

what is the right processor for my notebook i'm goin to play game at medium detail at resolution of 800x600. I'm on a budget, I can only afford 1200 notebook.. AMD or INTEL?

I would go for AMD with a built-in decent graphics processor from ATI or Nvidia. We've tested a lot of notebooks with processors from both companies. Best performance for dollar is with AMD.

If youer going to play games on your laptop, I think you will prefer its native resolution, not 800x600, no?

EDIT: And, if your preoccupation is your battery life, choose the Pentium M (NOT A CELERON), for speed I guess a Turion, but Im not sure, don't know about them.

Turion MT class uses 25 watts.
Turion ML class uses 35 Watts.

For gaming I would consider that the Turion is s direct descendant of the Athlon XP which argualbly is superior to any of Intel's chips for gaming, and that the Pentium M is a modified Pentium 3.

The Pentium M represents a radical departure for Intel, as it is not a low-power version of the desktop-oriented Pentium 4, but instead a heavily modified version of the Pentium III Tualatin design (itself based on the Pentium Pro core design).
