Anti-virus software (app) on a smartphone using internet

Hi,

I do use internet in the form of WiFi and Mobile Data on my smartphone. Do I need to install an anti-virus, or similar security software/app on my device? For the record, it is a Samsung Galaxy s3 mini.

I have used Lookout for the past 3+ years. I like that it included lost phone tracking before Google included it. Don't load questionable apps, and actually look at the permissions the apps are asking for. I don't know how much benefit there is, but it is better than nothing.

AVAST, it's free, can track your phone too and all other stuff

Both Avast and Lookout need to much permission. When I press on 'Install' both apps want access to too much info. Why the hell? No need to have access over my phone's ID and other private stuff.
