I was shown the lenovo y50 and it is very good I like it a lot but is there any other laptops out there besides this? Oh and Im also wondering if a customised hp would also work. Open to all brands

Solution
The GT70 should last about 3 years for future gaming and handling advanced graphics for the next generation. In terms of life span, it could probably run for 4-5 years, if taken care well with a consideration of the heat production.
for $1200 the y50 is like the blend of all the best things you can get.
1080p screen, 860M GPU, high battery life, manageable temperatures with a thin profile.
I don't think there's a better option for any budget under $1350

yep, the only thing it's missing is the CD-ROM which most people don't even care about. There aren't better options unless you hit the 1400$ or more

IMHO your best bet is as someone suggested Lenovo Y50 Laptop. The Lenovo Y50 is a beast of a computer. I gotta say, it has served me well so far. Easily handles any gaming activity you throw at it in 2014.

For $1,300 to $1,400, you're open to a great deal of options. Do you have any preferences such as screen size, weight, battery life, brand, etc?

Let us know and we can probably find the perfect laptop for your needs!

well battery life is important since I will be using it for school as well so about 5 hrs or more if possible would be nice. open to all brands ty guys

I see what about the msi dragon edition I was looking at it and seems amazing but i wasnt able to find reviews on it yet... 4hrs battery life is enough actually just checked my class schedule

MSI GT70? That's definitely a beast to carry around, but if you can handle the weight, it would be an amazing desktop replacement. For MSI Dominators, they will generally get anywhere from 3 to 4 hours of battery life depending on usage.
