blackbord65 :
Thanks for the info. Could you help me find a laptop that cost only around $460-$530? I'm not expecting a great laptop at this price and as I mentioned I only play dota 2 even at medium settings would be fine.
Right at your limit of $530, the following Acer Aspire E5-573G with a Core i5-5200u and nVidia 940m. Also has a 1080p screen and 1 TB hard drive.

For $550 you can get the following Acer Aspire E 15 E5-575G-53VG with a newer Core i5-6200u, nVidia 940mx, 1080p screen, and a 256GB SSD.

The i5-6200u offers a minor performance increase over the i5-5200u. You will not notice any difference. The i5-6200u is more power efficient so technically you can get slightly better battery life. Assuming all things being equal, the i5-6200u can probably give you an extra 30 - 45 minutes of battery life based on average usage.
The nVidia 940mx uses DDR5 RAM instead of DDR3 RAM that the nVida 940m uses so there should be a decent increase in performance since DDR5 is faster.
A SSD has much faster read / write speeds than a hard drive.(HDD) It does not make the laptop more powerful, but it makes it more responsive. A laptop with a HDD can take 45 - 60 seconds to boot into Windows. A SSD can cut the down to between 15 - 20 seconds. Extremely fast SSDs can cut that down to around 10 seconds. But with a SSD you give capacity for the fast read / write speeds.
