Although the new iMacs are advertised as having two Thunderbolt 4/DisplayPort ports, this claim is somewhat misleading as only one can be used at a time. I just bought the M3 iMac to replace my old Intel iMac in a two-monitor setup, and it doesn't support this configuration, so I'm experiencing an unexpected downgrade. Apple Support have confirmed that this poorly-documented restriction is intended.
