Apple laptop has black screen

Suddenly went to black screen and that's all I have!
I tried the Option-Command-P-R all at once ; the screen turned a lighter black, then black again.

It's 2010 Macbook.

This is me answering my own question - this was for a friend's computer- she went to computer store and they found a damaged file, $25 fixed it.
