Apple patent on swipe function?

Is there patent on the swipe function with apps? Have searched me towards the conclusion, that Apple has patent on it, but how can Tinder use it then?

as far as i know apple have tried to patent it. but because the patent is being queried in court they dont own exclusive rights to it.

It's such a broad function of a touch screen that I think there will be very little chance they will get a patent on it. It's like putting a patent on pushing down a key on a keyboard to type a letter or moving the mouse right to move a cursor.
