Apple's Next iPhone Needs More Megapixels

MP does matter everything else being equal. And 8MP is a tad bit too low for many uses. For example, if I took a shot of blackboard with 8MP camera across a conference room, it wouldn't have enough detail to make out small writing on a black board. Even with good lighting this is problem whether phone is iphone 6 8MP camera or some 3 year old android phone 8MP camera. Same with zooming in a day time shot with 8MP. Details just aren't there. And let's not even talk about iphone's laughable 1.2MP selfie camera.

The 6 is actually a big improvement over the 5. Think where we were a few short years back, further improvements are definitely coming, and quickly.
