I'll admit it I look at the pictures of a girl I'm interested in but It doesn't replace portn by far. Looking at the pictures on facebook is one thing, getting off to those pictures is something completely different (and pretty f'ed up IMO, but people get off to a lot weirder things)

Exactly! I'll never understand why a hot girl with a nice rack who wears a shirt that shows massive amounts of cleavage will get pissed off at you if you glance/look/stare at her nice boobs?

One of the girls here at work always has on a shirt that shows half her boobs. I know there are at least 4 guys here that make up reasons just to walk by her cubicle every day.

Bet the porn merchants are well aware of this. They know how to manipulate someone's brain..and their wallet.

As a casual browser I don't really see a problem with handling large volumes of visual data in this manner. So you you're curious or aroused by a pretty face..just laws of nature isn't it? I am sure a lot of women are generally flattered by the interest, despite some of the lurid comments they may get.

So as long as there's nothing underhand about I don't see any harm. Just as long as it doesn't become a complete subsitute for dealing with someone face-to-face and know what your'e doing in so far as posting details on a public service.

Lol i know tons of people who do this. I mean this is what you get for uploading over 500 picutres of you and your friends at a beach. Some teen girls nowadays dont understand the amount of perverts and creepos there are on the internet. So yeahh. But its true in the article above that lots of guys do that now.

It is a serious fact that folks are putting stuff on FB they should not. I had to have a chat with one of my nieces about a year ago on that subject.

Even though she's well past legal age (25), she looks like she's 15 or 16 and the skimpy bikini and the artistic talents of whoever took the pictures made her prime stalker fodder and she didn't have her page closed at all. We were not happy (neither was her Mom).

Don't buy into it guys - if a man is demonized for 'looking' at a woman then we are done as a race. Why are there 6+ BILLION people on this planet? Yes it all started with a man 'looking' at a woman. So why I ask, would it bother a woman if she knew a guy was looking at her? Simple - because SHE only wants guys that SHE wants to look at her - look at her. SHE wants to control the ones who don't. Sounds more like a feminist movement to undermine our very fabric. Ladies - if you do not want guys to look at you then do not post pictures. Now stalking, obsessing and actually DOING something about it when the woman does not want it - that is a whole different issue, and not good. Sticking to the simple point of this thread though - 'looking' in and of itself is a good thing, for if not for that simple first step, we would be population zero.

I don't exactly see this as far fetched or anything.
When I notice someone who looks attractive in the small picture (and whom I don't know) commenting one of my friends on facebook I more often than not end up clicking the link to see a bit more. You never know if it's your next girlfriend you're looking at after all. I wouldn't say it's a replacement for porn though. That'd certainly require a lot more imagination than I have at my disposal.

There's porn, then there's facebook, and teh gamez.

I've never seen the intersection of those things. Maybe it's because I assume 80% of the female profiles for people I don't know are either men or Filipinos, in either case, the pictures are unrelated to the poster.

Old news. Guys have been wanking to fully clothed women on the internet for years. Some women refuse to post photos of themselves online due to that. I don't see why it really even matters. And yeah porn gets old because it is everywhere. It doesn't matter if the people in the porn look fake or not but it is generally very impersonal and tasteless.

doesn't meant it can't be complemented with other means of interaction though. You can't exclusively live in the world based on bronze age technology.
