asus laptop does not work on battery mode please help

my laptop only works on ac power
when i unplug it , it shuts down
tried replacing the battery
still the same issue
the laptop displays the battery is charging but as soon as i disconnect it from the ac supply it shuts down
please tell me what is the problem and what should be done to fix it

the laptop does show the battery plugged in and charging sign
but as soon as i remove the ac power the laptop shuts down
i have tried replacing the battery and tried re-installing the batter drivers
but the problem still persists
if anyone could tell me what the problem is and how to fix it .. it would be great
