Question Asus Laptop run slow following battery replacement

-Replaced to new battery

• Doesn't turn on when pressing power button
• Turns on when plugged into power cable and remains on when power cable is removed.
• If on power cable supply, laptop is perfect, no issue.
• When running on new battery, power button does not work and running is slow, stuttering, and laggy. Programs and internet is slow.

Any ideas how to fix?
