ASUS laptop won’t stay on unless plugged

I have an ASUS X540S and the battery was not charging. I have fixed that problem and now the battery is fully charged 100%. As soon as I unplug the computer it shuts off.

How did you 'fix' the charging problem? As that may be part of why now won't stay on.

However, if the battery is bad, which can give false power readings, then it would need replacing to fix the issue.
