Acer recommends Windows 10 Pro for business use but the domestic version would enough. The specification I just read said "RAM up to 8GB" but if you only have 4GB, I suggest you buy another 4GB stick.

Windows 7 is no longer supported by Microsoft. There are many versions of Linux and they're free of charge. I use Mint19 in one of my laptops and it's quite good but daily updates are as annoying as Microsoft's behaviour.
