Atari flashback 8 help

I have an Emerson tv about 7 years old and it doesn't have av in inputs but does have components spot as well as video HDMI etc! Atari flashback 8 has yellow and white on cable and regardless of where I plug into or set input to can't get it to come on screen, same tv my kids play all their games on, wondering now do I need an adapter?

It may have a shared component-composite video input. There would be a place in the TV menu to set it to composite. The TV manual will also have instructions.
If that's not the case then you can get an active converter to go from composite video plus audio to HDMI or to component video.
