Cheap alternatives? I got one, stop being lazy and get up from the bed!! With that said, its still something i'd wan to relax myself..but this is one overpriced ^$@#^%@$%
I'm sure someone with a background in simple pulleys could come up with something simple that you could rig up under the bed. It could be motorized or not. Complex yes, but for 14k I'm sure I could find the time to figure something out.
I like this. It's cool. However, as has already been mentioned, I could make something like this myself for substantially less. And if I fire my gimp, I'll have the room under the bed I need.
It's useless, overpriced and makes you fat/lazy.
Simply NOT having TV on the bedroom is the best.
TV is for entertainment, which belongs in the living room, with surround sound, receiver, blu ray/PS3, XBOX360 and Wii.
I just don't get it. If I had money like this that I absolutely needed to spend on my television setup in my bedroom, I'd just cut out a piece of my wall to fit my TV into. This is freaking retarded.
I like it, kind of makes me want to build my own system to do this (hand-crank powered, pulley system). Of course I can't imagine having a TV in the bedroom, though hooking my PC up to this and gaming in bed....

Then do it.
