Hi everyone, I don't have experience with laptops or computers. So I was hoping you can help me get something okay for college. I'm going for computer science so I would like to be able to run all the programs needed. Price range: Around $600 more or less(Less is better) Thanks <3

Good find, but that's only a dual core i5, and an ultrabook low voltage one at that.

Not sure if OP wants one that can minimally game, or if an i7 to run programs decent would be better.

An i7 is not needed to have a fast computer, i5s are perfectly fine, i7s are for professional work because it has hyperthreading. Here is a quadcore: http://www.intel.com/buy/us/en/product/laptops/dell-xps-15-9530-387106

Don't know about you, but that doesn't sound so much gaming as it will be running professional programs. If theres anything demanding the capped ultrabook i5 processor you linked with a weak gaming card will get him half into two doors.

Just saying

That link is to a $2200 computer, if you click the $500 option, this is it.
