Bad pixels

I got a HP Pavilion ze4805us notebook computer about 10 days ago.
Yesterday I saw a dark spot on the screen. when I looked closer I saw
that it was a bad pixel. I downloaded a program called LCDTest ran it.
I saw that the bad pixel is present except when then screen was red and
another one shows up only when the screen is blue. The pixels are in
different locations. (lower left and top middle) I could have missed the
first pixel all of this time. I have a dark background and you can not
see the pixel with it. With only 2 pixels being bad and the 2nd only
showing itself when the screen is blue, it does not bother me at all. I
was wondering if anyone could tell me if more pixels might fail later.
If this problem will get worse I will take is back but if the problem is
going to be with only these 2 pixels then I would prefer to keep the
computer. Any advice and experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I understand that just one or two pixels missing in a display are
regarded as within specs and you would probably find that HP would
refuse to replace under warranty.
This is an accepted failure tolerance in the manufacturing process and
from my experience there is no reason that the problem will spread.

Tthe existence of a couple of bad pixels is not an indication of a
prgressively degenerating condition, but at the same time, even your
screen was currently perfect, there's no guarantee that more pixels
won't fail later.

The LCD defect criteria varies by manufacturer, but for most
manufacturers, if the defects are not adjacent or "close together", the
number of defects required before a manufacturer will consider the panel
"defective" is quite high -- in the range of 6 to almost 20, again,
depending on the manufacturer. The policies often do place a premium on
the location of the defects, they allow more defects around the edges
than they do in some defined central area. Note, though, that if you
try to return it, your ability to do so will be goverened not only by
the official policy, but also by the temperment and attitude of the
particular customer service representative that you end up dealing with.

Go Google the following:
massage bad pixels
.... just like that. It will make available a number of links. Let the group
know if it worked. We're always willing to consider weird things....
