BDS Harman/ kardon

A friend of mine gave me a bds Harman/Kardon with only 3 speackers: 2 front right and left and the center one. I don’t have the subwoofer. The bds works good but only with 2 front speackers. The center speacker don’t work, is because that I don’t have the subwoofer? The center speaker is ok it works I already checked it.

Depends, depends, depends.

If the system thinks you are playing stereo, or you are playing stereo source and there is no special configuration how to deal with stereo sources, i.e.: do you want to apply virtual surround? Then stereo plays on 2 speakers, perfectly normal.

To enable center then, either you are playing a surround source, and your system is CONFIGURED for surround, it may not offer you a 3.1 setup, it may say configure for 2.0 or 2.1 or 5.1 and those are your choices in which case you should select 5.1 anyway, even though u won't have can't hear rear speakers but at least your center will be enable.

Thank you jsmithepa. I did what you sugested. So I have only center speaker but is better.
