Few comments in Amazon suggest that SONOS PLAY doesn't let to connect with cable. I am planning to play from laptop not from Smartphone.

sonos is an offcial trading company for the company i work for.
so ive experienced alot of their products.

ive got no clue about second use , but boy what AN AMAZING sound.

I don't rate the sonos , they're vastly overpriced as a straight speaker unless you're doing multi room with them or linking them to a compatible network enabled smart bluray etc.
You're paying a lot extra for features you probably wont use.

For straight 2.1 speakers with great quality consider the Yamaha 150.
Great price that too, these were a £250 speaker set on release.
