What is the best brand of dish for directv?

If you mean a standard 18" dish, it doesn't matter. They're all made to
the same spec whether it's branded as KTI, Terk, or whatever. It could be
any DSS dish and lnbf made to view one bird. If you want local channels, and
HDTV capability in addition to the DTV standard fare, you'll need a
dish/lnbf capable of viewing multiple birds. Those too are made to spec by
more than one manufacturer.
I get the impression that your researching this info for a future
purchase. In that case, just look for the best deal you can find for the
number of receivers you want. The dish will most likely be of the multi-beam
type, since it reduces the number of items to be stocked by a distributor or
vendor. If you want a dish that will resist rain fade, look for a bigger
dish to gather more signal. Yes, bigger is better. At least in this case.
Channel Master makes a larger dish for exactly this purpose.

ChannelMaster is a good place to spec out a dish, and decide what you want,
however everything they sell is overpriced. get your specs then search the
net and you'll find it a hell of a lot cheaper. I saved over $100 on a 30"
triple LNB dish versus what ChannelMaster listed it for. ($199.99 plus
$25.00 S&H)
