Best DigCam for $250US...and more

Hi all,

Just wondering since my forte isn't really the digital camera realm, whether someone could point me in the right direction as to a good disgital camera for around 250 US dollars or less. I'm looking for something above 2 megapixels that has a decent battery life. And the battery life needs to be a strong point...I just picked up a <A HREF="http/h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en/ho/WF06b/15179-64213-64342-12117-f30-90111-90113-90114.html" target="_new">HP Photosmart 735</A> the other day and the batteries run out in 10 minutes. That's not cool at all. I took that puppy back immediately. Don't get me wrong, it was a great camera...image quality was good...but 10 minutes...come on. Even though I had rechargeables...thats just not a good thing at all.

So...does anyone have a good digcam 2.0 megapixels or higher for 250 us dollars or under that has a good battery life?

I'd look at the Olympus stylus 300 and the Canon Elph SD100.

The Olympus D560Z should be 250$ now. You could also check if the A70 from Canon has dropped this low. Use <A HREF="http/www.imaging-resource.com" target="_new">http/www.imaging-resource.com</A> to find a budget 3.2MP camera that fits your needs and is positively reviewed.

I bought the Sony P-52 on offer for just over $200 after rebate at Best Buy. That was the Christmas deal. It might have sold out or ended by now. It offers 3.2MP resolution, decent zoom (3x digi, 2x opt) and rudimentary video recording. Maybe there are better deals out there but this is a camera that's not disappointed me so far.
