Hi guys, need recommendations for the best gaming laptop for around £2000 ($2800)

Not bought a gaming rig/laptop before so i'm kind of at a loss at to what the latest and greatest hardware is.

Had a look at the Alienware 17/ Asus ROG G752/MSI GT72 but no idea which is best or if there's better out there for around that price point.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi. Thanks for the recommendation. The only MSI machine I can find here in the UK with the GTX 980 fitted is this one which is a bit more than j waned to pay. There doesn't seem to be any inbetween. It's either a machine with the 980M fitted or this one..... https://www.scan.co.uk/products/173-msi-gt72s-6qf-094-dragon-fhd-gsync-27ghz-i7-6820hk-32gb-ddr4-512gb-nvme-ssdplus1tb-hdd-8gb-gtx-9

Wow, it seems to be much more expensive in the UK.

How are these options for you? Sorry they're not UK since I'm unware of good places to shop at for laptops in the UK.

The difference between the two is only a overclockable CPU and an extra 4GB of vram for the GPU. 8GB of vram is overkill already for the gtx 980M, so getting 4GB won't hurt it at all.

So it narrows down to just the overclockable CPU, if your not going to overclock, save $500 and get the non overclockable i7.

EDIT: I forgot to mention the lower end model "only" has 24GB instead of 32GB of RAM, but this shouldn't matter unless your doing some insane video editing. :)

For specs considerations, these machines are almost in the same level. If you are looking for better sound experience and cooling, you could look at MSI GT72, or you could look at ASUS G752 for its reasonable price.
