Best Laptop around $500

Hi, Im looking for the best laptop I can get for around the $500 price. I would like it to maybe be abe to play some steam games but nothing crazy. I dont really mind what screen size. Any help apreciated.

It may be open box, but a 740M with an i5 is as good as it gets (actually this is probably the only one) for laptops around $500. Make sure you read the policy and what-not, but this should easily play new games on med-high settings and some on ultra considering it's on a 1300x700 screen.

Thanks this is the sort of thing Im looking for but unfortunately Im in Australia and they dont deliver to Australia I dont think. And what are open box like? It seems a bit risky

Ah, AU. If you list some sites, I can do a quick check for you. And open box is when someone returns something and say they forgot to return something with it, or they opened it before returning, the retailer has to discount it after checking to make sure it works because it's technically not new after someone "opens" the box, hence open-box.

I had seen one very similar to this, but Im also a bit weary of refurbished. Is it a risk? or does it depend where you get it from?
