best speaker for around or under £150

Those are pretty bad quality.

Klipsch ProMedia 2.1
Edifier S330D

For good sound with less bass than those with a large woofer, M-Audio AV42, BX5 Carbon are in your price range.

i also think they would be bad but like the looks

The Makies are pretty comparable to the M-Audio ones. Just keep in mind you won't have booming bass, just good overall sound.

Solution

could i buy the mackies and then later upgrade and buy a subwoofer for extra bass.
Also are the mackies good for music listing as they are meant for creating music.
Is there much difference between cr4 and cr5(should I wait and buy cr5 or cr4 and wait then subwoofer)

To use a sub with them, you will need to either have a soundcard with a dedicated sub output or use an external crossover for the sub. Don't know the difference between the models, it's usually just power/loudness and low frequency speaker size that changes in the same model range as you go up in price.
