I'm a student looking to buy a laptop to replace my 5 year slowly dying Acer.

I'll be using it for:

  • ■General office type tasks (Word, Excel)
    ■Some coding (Python, Matlab)
■Some light gaming (but I don't really care about big performance, most of my favourite games are not too recent, think 2008/2010 most recent)
    ■Browsing internet (chrome, many tabs)

My budget is less than £400, preferably less than £350, but willing to stretch if there is good reason.

Here are the ones I'm considering:

Packard Bell Easynote TK85- £340
(Packard Bell EasynoteTK Intel Core i3 6GB/500GB 15.6'' Black Laptop - Everyday - Laptops & netbooks - Computing - Technology - Sainsbury’s)

Acer 5733- £340
(Buy Acer 5733 Laptop (Intel Core i3, 4GB, 640GB, 15.6" Display) Grey from our Laptops range - Tesco.com)

Acer Aspire V3-571- £350
(Acer Aspire V3-571 15.6-inch Laptop (Intel Core i3 2370M 2.4GHz, 6GB RAM, 500GB HDD, DVDSM DL, LAN, WLAN, BT, Webcam, Integrated Graphics, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit): Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories)

Lenovo IdeaPad G580- £330 (that is £380 minus £50 cashback)
(Lenovo IdeaPad G580 i3-2370 4GB 320GB DVDRW 15.6" W7HP Bronze (MAA45UK) - dabs.com)

ASUS X501A - £330
(ASUS X501A-XX006V 15.6" Laptop at cheap prices | Pcworld)

I would really appreciate any thoughts on this as I'm not sure how to differentiate between them. Currently leaning towards the Packard Bell or Aspire V3-571 for the 6GB RAM.

Thanks in advance!

Acer Aspire V3-571 is an excellent choice as it has a 2nd Generation i3 coupled with a 6GB RAM comparing to 1st Generation i3 in Packard Bell, which is gonna help in gaming and coding. It also has 500GB storage. So if I had to choose one I would definitely choose the Acer.
