Trying to get definitive lists for a few utilities I'd like to try. Hoping anyone can give 2 or 3 pay and/or 2 or 3 free: file manager, uninstaller and backup choices that work well and don't have any 'issues'.
I'm leaning towards Acronis True Image if I can find an academic price but also am investigating Macrium Reflect Free and Easeus Todo backup. Running windows 7 Pro and XP Pro and want to burn full and incrementals to DVD/CD (and older PATAs).
Haven't really found any file manager or uninstaller that's free of problems/drawbacks, large or small. I'd be interested in why anyone uses something vs. generic plugs for this or that.
Oh and before anyone rants about Acronis being only $25 or thereabouts - tuition payment looms so optimizing dollars is a consideration, but not paramount.
Thanks in advance,
Mac
