Best value laptops for video editing?

I've been researching laptops for my GF who needs something on-the-go for light video editing and Photoshop work. Her budget is $700 or less, weight isn't a huge factor, and needs an SSD as going back to HDD would probably be shocking.

I've kinda narrowed it down to these two, but am open for other ideas, especially cheaper alternatives.

I'm leaning towards the Lenovo, but I think the Dell would handle video editing better? Plus, my experience with Dell support has been good, anecdotally. What do you guys think? Are the new 8th Gen processors better for future-proofing?

Thanks for the input. We were discouraged by the whole Slickdeals rebate fiasco, so Dell is definitely winning points right now. Eyeballing a few ebay listings and considering the Lenovo Flex 5 w/ the 7th Gen i5 and a 940MX for only $500. There's also a Samsung Pro 9 laptop that has a 950M GPU w/ 2GB of ram and a Intel i7-6700HQ Quad Core CPU.

What do you guys think about between the Dell and these two? Are those two GPUs adequate for smooth operation of the Adobe Suite and multi-tasking? Will be buying another 8GB stick of RAM, most likely, main concern is 1) display, 2) GPU, 3) longevity.

oh my bad man just saw that the CPU i saw that i looked up when i saw your post didnt match yours actually the i7-6700HQ is better than the i5-7300HQ but thats just that model im sure you can find a dell Inspiron 15 with a i7-6700HQ im more than sure just browse around until you find a good pick btw i still stand by my opinion with the dell even with this CPU for this model of the dell Inspiron 15 will still beat it out due to the GPU being a 1050TI so yea dell....right way too go

It was the weak TN screen on the 7576 that was the dealbreaker in the end. The viewing angles and terrible brightness just weren't going to cut it for someone using Photoshop.

Lenovo had their own more powerful 8th gen w/ a GTX 1050, but it was the Yoga model that doesn't have expandable memory.

Hi there. Just something to consider... if you are planning on using premier pro... if you use proxies, you can edit with a less powerful machine. Your GF probably knows about this but if she doesn't, it is worth looking into it....

I have an older Dell Inspiron and its works ok with proxies...
