I kinda fail too see how this is "Apple competitor bashing". If anything Apple would likely prefer for Bing to grow and therefore weaken Google.

[citation][nom]Littlun[/nom]All the more reason to scoff at Bing commercials, and the product in general.[/citation]

i use bing for image searches because google can no longer be trusted there.

[citation][nom]jupiter optimus maximus[/nom]I feel bad for microsoft burning billions on Bing, yet no dent in the market. The only time i used Bing was Bing cashback from fall 2008-summer 2010, other than that, nothing would persuade me.[/citation]

depends on how you implement ads,
on youtube its about 3$ per 1000
on traditional ads, it could be a fixed rate for x views or a commission rate of 1-187$ per click and purchase, while amazon is a fixed % based on purchases.

microsoft may make its money back on ad revenue it pulls in even now,

[citation][nom]teamcarlisle[/nom]How did Bing ever make it to the top 4 in the first place. Its a horrible search engine. I'm a microsoft fanboy, I love everything about them, except Bing. Sometimes I wonder if they even use their own search engine...[/citation]

horrible? really? you want to find a specific porn video, bing is the engine you use... and after google started censoring their image results, they let up recently, but its was still filtered to the point analingus brought up 7 adult images and only 4 related, on a term than can not be taken any other way, and i cant trust them with images ever again because of that.

also, even on normal images i dont like how google handles them anymore, much preferring bings style there.

with video searches, it feels like it actually searches for the video apposed to google giving me 3-5 videos related to what i searched and than apparently giving up.

really, at this point the only thing google has over bing is the search for text, thats it.

When i get to Bing.com and i see that first page i stop there thinking what a crappy designed page. Same for microsoft.com. I used to love their web site, now it looks like crap. I get feeling I have Zoom 140% every time i visit any of their sites. MS needs to undestand that nobody likes Metro, nobody ever wanted Metro and Metro is not good design for anything. Looks plain ugly. Yes some people like it but enough for MS to make any Market breakthrough.

Also in US, because "you need to be protected against terrorists"

[citation][nom]alikum[/nom]In case you haven't realized, Yahoo search is powered by Bing. So those 2 should really combine and effectively make Bing 3rd, shouldn't it?[/citation]
And Bing is powered by Google. Search for "hiybbprqag" or "mbzrxpgjys".

WTF!! Zak you stupid douche, ALL of yahoo's searches are performed by Bing, so how about you get your MS hating head out of your ass and add up the yahoo and bing % market share and give us a TRUE leaderboard, not just the one your hatred of all things non-apple compels you to make.

13billion is a FAR different figure to the 2.whatever it is you claim!

I don't have a problem with Bing, I still primarily use Google but when I'm doing product research I also use Bing to make sure I'm not getting paid for google adverts instead of honest search results.

Chalk up another failure for Microsoft.

Their Online Service Division and Entertainiment Division have combined for well over $6 billion in operating income loss over the past decade.

Includes unprofitable ventures such as: Kin phone, Zune, Bing, Microsoft Tablets, etc, etc.
Even Xbox has been unprofitable to barely profitable since its inception.

Microsoft has had no success outside Windows and Office. Complete failures all around. Not surprising Bing is another one.

And Bing is powered by Google. Search for "hiybbprqag" or "mbzrxpgjys".

That was a awful attempt at Trolling Microsoft from Google, anyone who understands how search engines work should understand that creating a correlation between a term and a site will mean that another search engine will learn it.

In this case 1 in 10 of the Bing links to this nonsense term were generated by Bing figuring out that the Google pages (that the Google search engine created) were a popular target for this search term.

So in this case Bing was doing exactly what it should do, showing the user a link between two different terms, even better it only had 10% of its results were fooled by Google's misdirection so it showed the search engine was resistant to misdirection (that is either done for malicious or commercial reasons).

[citation][nom]jumpityjuming222[/nom]DuckDuckGo.com FTW[/citation]
I like the idea of non-bubbling, and how official websites go on top as opposed to popular websites leaving the official ones down. I also like how a search would get one result per site instead of spamming the whole result thread with few sites.
But, the search quality is poor in comparison to google.
Still I cheer for DuckDuckGo and use it fairly often.
