Solved! Bios battery location in hp 2230s

i need to reset the bios password on my hp 2230s laptop. i ran the tool from hp but it will not boot to usb drive.

Do you have WinXP Servive Pack 3 installed? What other problems are you having?
Have you tried booting from an external CD drive?

The BIOS battery (RTC battery) is on the laptop's motherboard.
