Bios HDD Problem please help!

My BIOS suddenly can not detect my hard disk i have been using for years, i am sure the hard disk is fine because any linux live usb like fedora/ubuntu/gparted etc can detect it and shows all the partitions and data it contains. Its a Acer Aspire 5520..

What do you mean by "years?" Is that how old the HDD is?

Have you tried resetting the BIOS?
