Black screen laptop

My laptop screen is black eventhough the fan is on..i have tried unplugged the battery, press the switch on button for 30seconds and press the shift + F8 button but nothing works

The ribbon cable that connects your screen to you motherboard may have come loose you may be able to find a tutorial that shows you how to fix it. Are you able to plug an external monitor in?
