Blank Screen but Lights up

Hi,

Thanks for reading this. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas if there was any other troubleshooting I could do to a Easynote E528 that lights up but nothing on the screen and also works when hooked to an external monitor. I have tried the screen on another laptop and it works, I also tried replacing the display cable. I was on another tech site and no one could point what could be causing this. Its a strange one, please help lol. Thanks!

Hi, from what you wrote, the problem could be the Intel Graphics and Memory Controller Hub. The section controlling the CRT is working, but the one controlling the LVDS is not.

Thanks for your response. Does that mean I would need to replace the motherboard ?

Probably, but before changing the motherboard, make sure you have a good connection for the screen cable on the motherboard. Without the schematic it's difficult to pinpoint the defective component.
