Blank screen on samsung r40

I HAVE A BLANK SCREEN ON MY SAMSUNG R40 PLEASE HELP

What happens if you attach an external monitor ? (see manual for how to activate it).

If the external monitor works it's usually either the screen or the backlight which has failed in the laptop.

Disconnect the external and start again with the main screen -- this time shine a torch at the screen if you can see something on the screen. If you can the backlight isn't working.

That's not the issue.

The blank white screen suggests a video circuitry or connector/lead fault.

I'd imagine it woudn't work if you attached an external screen .. could you try that ?
