Hello everyone. I want to start off by saying I know very little about computers. But I would like to start doing gaming videos. I was wondering if anyone knows of a laptop for about $300-$400 that can use an elgato hd60 game capture. All I know is the system requirements for the elgato is at least an i5 processor clocked at 2 ghz and at least 4gb of ram. Also, I have a console so the laptop does not have to be able to play games. However it would be nice if it could play Minecraft. So are there any laptops that meet those requirements that are under $400? Any thoughts are appreciated, thanks.
I will investigate into it. Would you say you use Sony Vegas for your video editing?
Tell me places where you'd be buying this laptop from? Online stores?
I honestly do not know what programs to use for editing. I've never even had a computer before. If Sony Vegas is the best or easiest I guess I'll go with that. And I guess I was planning on buying online, wherever it is cheapest, and thank you for replying.
Definitely go with Sony Vegas, you can buy the most basic version (which I believe is 80$ or something), but you can always get it from other sources... If you're really tight on a budget.
I'd recommend you to pick up a laptop with at least a decent Nvidia graphics card or the Intel HD 4600 or better, because there you can use this amazing feature called "Quick Sync" in Sony Vegas which will use the graphics processor and CPU at the same time and it will make rendering videos easier for you.
If you go with the Nvidia Graphics card, you can do that as well, I just can't tell you it would be as efficient in rendering as the Quick Sync feature, but you'd definitely get a boost in gaming with the Nvidia card since it's way better for gaming.
But if you're specifically looking for a rendering machine for simple videos and some montage clips of you and your friends gaming on a console, I'd go with the Intel HD solution.
A few laptops that gave me a spark on this pricepoint:
