Budget TV sound system

I am looking to buy my Dad a new sound system for his TV for Christmas. I want it to be able to fully replace the TV's sound. I have about £100 to spend and want it to be easy to use and the best quality sound for the money.

Please give me some suggestions.

Need more info on what kind of TV it is. You need to know what types of audio outputs the TV has. If it doesn't have any, it is a lot more difficult.
