Hey all, I am looking for a laptop for heavy game design and gaming that is going to be VR ready and last me 3+ years tech-wise. I don't mind lugging around a beast of a machine. I was looking at MSI GT72S with a 4K screen and a GTX 980 but as of today they removed the option for a 4K screen. My budget is around $3,000. Can you guide me in the right direction? Should I really buy a 4K screen?
I've got a desktop with a GTX 970 but obviously I can't lug that around to classes or design sessions. Would it be better for me to invest in a 1080p laptop setup and just get a 4K monitor that I could use for both my laptop and desktop? Granted I wouldn't have a mobile 4K screen but does that really factor in heavily with game design and Gaming? I'm also looking at getting a VR headset and was wondering which to get. I'm gonna wait though till early next year and see if models improve with a bit of time.
Thank you for all your help in advance!
**edit: forgot to say that I want a 17" laptop or bigger, if possible.
