Buying Laptop for Wow

Hi there,

So I've been researching a lot in this web, learning about the very basic things to get the best opcion for a laptop to play wow:cataclysm. This called most of my atention http/www.tomshardware.com/reviews/world-of-warcraft-cataclysm-directx-11-performance,2793.html, I learned a few things, trying to solve the problem by myself but I'm still a computer-imbecil. So, the Read before buying questions:

1. What is your budget?

1000-1200

2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?

15'

3. What screen resolution do you want?

1366x768 ? dont know much about this


5. How much battery life do you need?

not important, ill play in home

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?

wow: cataclysm basically. Obviosly, with the better setting possible for the budget that i have. But i think, in the end, i would conformate with a medium setting in raids.

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need?

500 gb

9. If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links.

2, 3 years. one thing that worries me is the raise of wow requeriments in a next expansions.

Chile. The options listed are the only ones i could find easily

So, the 2 class graphic cards works? there is a big diference between the i3 and the i5?

Hello dejan_savicevic;

The ASUS X5MSV (also known as N53SV) is a substantial upgrade in gaming performance over the N53JF. IMO, I think it's well worth the extra $110.

Both the i5-2410M and GT 540M graphic card have a useful performance advantage over the i3-370M / GT 425M
X5MSV has a better chance of remaining a good gaming platform over the next few years.

I'd recommend getting Sager NP8130

You can max out WoW with it;however,if you can't afford it,then any laptop with cards like GT 540M can handle it fine on medium settings

ok, so it seems the one with the GT 540M should be fine to medium wow graphics. However, do you think that isn´t it expensive? Im with the feeling that in USA I could get a best laptop for the same money

I got a ASUS N61JQ-X1 10 months ago. It can run WoW maxed out with shadow details on medium during raids with high FPS. It costed around 1.2K when I got it. Probably cheaper now.

Just going to give you my advice. Looking back it, I wish I used that money to build a PC rather than buying a laptop. I told myself I needed a laptop for college as well, but I find my self gaming at home than taking my laptop somewhere to study.

EDIT: Asus G73JH models are pretty hot right now. Good for gaming as well. Buy online and not at stores in my opinion.

What's expensive ? Sager NP8130 or the laptops with GT 540M ?

I mean that any of those are more expensive here than in USA, maybe, I don't know, because of taxes or something like that.

one more thing. I've seen a lot of laptops with the Nvidia G 330M. how would this work with wow?

330M is slower than 540M,also I don't think there are any sandy bridge notebooks w/330M
