I thinking of selling my Dishnetwork Dishplay 7100 and purchasing a Replay
TV device. I see a lot on ebay. Any advice? Can I safely buy the ones that
say they come with lifetime subscription and not have to pay the monthly
fees?

Yes you can. I recently bought 2 from a guy and they're just fine. I had
them shipped to me via USPS Priority Mail and received them in 4 days.
It mostly depends on WHO you're buying from as opposed to what you're
buying. A unit either is or isn't activated. Some sellers show a screen
shot to prove it's activated but that's not foolproof either. If the
seller has a high positive feedback rating you should be fine. Expect to
pay about $400 + postage for a new 5040 unit with lifetime activation.
RTV is selling refurbs on ebay for as low as $100 with free shipping so
that's a very good deal too.
