Hi, I'm looking for a cheap used laptop that can run reasonably well a develpment environment (IntelliJ, VS Code, Docker, Tomcat and Node). I've found out that people with Intel C2Duo were able to run those kinds of programs, so I think an i3-5005U would be just fine. What I need is at least 8gb ram and an SSD. I also want a portable laptop (2.2kg or less). I currently have a Dell Precision M4600 with an Nvidia Quadro 2000M and a bad battery (according to Dell, my laptop weighs 2.8kg, and I have to carry a huge power adapter that I think amounts to a total of 3.1kg). The options I have at the moment are (I have a 2GB DDR3 stick I think I could use, or I could leave my Dell M4600 with 12gb instead of 16gb and use an 8gb stick in a 4gb DDR3L laptop):
Lenovo B40-80: i5 5200u, 4GB DDR3, 500GB HDD for $192 - Need to add RAM and SSD
Lenovo G40-80: i3-4005u, 4GB DDR3, 500GB HDD for $147 - Need to add RAM and SSD
Lenovo Ideapad 110 (15.6"): i3-6006u, 4GB DDR4, 128GB SSD for $184 - Need to buy RAM
Dell Vostro 14 3468: i3 6006u, 8GB DDR4, 1TB HDD for $162 - Need to add SSD
Dell Vostro 14 3458: i3-5005u, 8GB DDR3, 1TB HDD for $177 - Need to add SSD
Dell Inspiron 14 3000: i5-4210u, 4GB DDR3, 128 GB SSD for $206 - Need to add RAM
Dell Inspiron 5559: i7-6500u for $221. The seller has no idea of other info on the laptop, he had laptops for a business and he's selling them now. I'm guessing it's 8GB RAM and no SSD. The problem with this laptop is that it might be too big/heavy in comparison with a 14" one
Dell Latitude E7440: i5-4310u, 8GB DDR3, 240GB SSD for $236 - I've heard this particular model overheats and is common to have a dead pixels line in the middle of the screen though.
HP 240 G6: i3 6006u, 4GB DDR3, 1TB HDD for $192 - Need to add RAM and SSD
As a reference, a 128GB SSD here (Chile) is around $27, and 4GB DDR4 SO-DIMM is $64
In general, my questions are about the build quality of an HP laptop in this price range vs a Lenovo or Dell. Also, what about Inspiron vs Vostro? Is the lower end build quality of the Inspiron really that important? (lid/screen flex and stuff).
